Zeiss Milvus 85/1.4 vs Zeiss Otus 85/1.4 vs Zeiss Planar 85/1.4 – Comparative Lens Review | Verybiglobo photo - Part 2

No idea if you should buy Otus when you don't have that kind of money as pocket change laying around. Batis is also very good, but no 50mm yet.

A new dilemma. ....should people crop their images to 50mm or take a step back? :hmm:

Maybe Tokina has the same deal with Pentax as Pentax has with Tamron about lens development and production. Just the Opera series maybe full inhouse design and production by Pentax. Good for labor in the Vietnam plant.

That is why Ricoh should come with a M-mount mirrorless with full electronics. Backwards compatible with old M-mount lenses and giving auto focus for new lenses.

I too did some years ago a real look at the lens quality of the three lenses I used on aps-c. All for portraitscenes and the best was DA*55, then FA*85 and the least of the bunch was FA31. To be honest non of them where bad. Just different types of great. The DA55 had the least number of lensspeckles (all easy to clean in lightroom). So older lenses will have more trouble to hold their ground in modern days.

For these old lenses a 24 megapixel fullframe would be more for giving. The K-1 is just a bit to much I guess.
