And in 15 years Canon/Nikon need another new mount to sell new lenses to their customers again.

That will be the future that even all camera makers will have to adopt and change their production to this future. Sales of these expensive camera's (dslr and mirrorless) will continue to go down in unit sales. People only need a new camera every 6 years or so.

The biggest problem with the K-1 was that it came to late to the market. Everyone was expecting it at the 2014 Photokina, but it didn't. If they had started development of the K-1 in early 2012 then it would be ready for this launch in september 2014. After that date Pentax lost almost everyone who was still waiting for a fullframe k-mount camera. They all went to other brands that did offer a fullframe model. What left was either not interested in fullframe or didn't have the money to buy into such a system. So in 2016 when the K-1 came there where around 25.000 customers waiting for it and after that sales went down a lot and never went up.

I wrote it wrong. Not to make content themselves, but to make a pro camera that can be used for this professional content making.

On february 7th Ricoh will publish their new quarter financial report. Maybe something is in there to read. You never know. At this sales rate not much new is coming to market, since there are not enough customers waiting.

That is a very strong decline. The last quarter shipments (december is not yet published) is very weak with dslr cut in half compared to last year. This looks like Pentax sold less then 14,5k units to Japan in 2018. That is half as much as in 2017.
Pentax is getting pretty small this way.......

A DA 28mm/f2.8 would fit into that spot. A small lens and not to fast in a metal case. Not a fast and expensive lens.

He is looking for a camera not yet developed and a lens to match it not yet on the market........
That will never change, because the next generation of gear will be the one he is seeking for!

In 2011 Pentax was much bigger then currently. The market for camera's and lenses as a whole was also much bigger then.
The thing with Q was that they chose a too small sensor to have any market for a long time. Even in 2011 this was seen in the market as a choice for a too small sensor, even before smartphone took over that market.
Had they chosen a 2/3" sensor, with a crop of 4x to full frame and a sensor twice the size of the original Q they would have a better future. Ofcourse lenses should also be different then and grow in size. If it would survive today in the market for smartphone. .......maybe, but probably not or marginal.

Maybe this move would bring the dfa*85mm/f1.4 to the market. Pushed back to who knows when at the moment.

That was one of the shortcomings for Q. There never was a long zoom for the holidays. A zoom offering a range from 24-480mm equivalent to fullframe. Making the Q a real superzoom bridge with 20x zoom. For that you had to buy another camera next to your Q.

However nice those survey's are, I think they would have sold a lot more copy's of a 50mm/f1.8 lens for 899 euro. The price point of the dfa* isn't for everyone.

I don't think professionals want someone to handles their raw images.
So I guess we will see the accelerator chip inside the 645Zii.

There is a market for aps-c. I think that is moving up in price and specs. So KP-ii will maybe become the entry-level for Pentax.
