Yes, what howieb101 said ^^. I also like the dedicated switch position for Live View, so when you switch the camera off and then back on, you are still in Live View until you switch it out of that mode- very useful. I have not regretted getting my KP in the very least, in spite of owning a K70 as well... so yes, I think it's worth it :)

Well totally different handling, but they are just different in that regard. Once I got used to the KP, it handles great, but the K70 felt fantastic from the get go. The KP has a far nicer shutter, very quiet, faster. I find that I'm much quicker at grabbing shots with the KP- again, after learning it. Using live view can be tedious with the fully articulating display of the K70, and it is vulnerable when deployed- a bit delicate. The KP's up-and-down display, however, is very robust and far easier and quicker to employ- so you tend to use it a LOT more. It's very strong. So, shutter performance, screen, and also the many quick-access user settings, I think. Another, less tangible advantage that the KP has is the constant feeling of quality that you get from handling and using it... and just looking at it- it's a beauty!

I have both, simply because the K70 came out first. However, I am keeping the K70 because it is also a great camera. I use both.
TBH, I end up keeping most of my camera gear- even two K-01's...

Thanks! It does look like it could double as a button of some sort. But the mid and large grips cover the bottom half of the wheel.

I agree, it feels natural.

Whoa, it looks awesome with those FA limiteds! Drooling. With your 43 Ltd or a DA40 Ltd, it really is a stealth camera.[COLOR="Silver"]

It does! They are probably jealous of this new svelte genius amongst them, though.

Welcome to Pentax! You have a fantastic pair of goodies on the way. The 15 Ltd is one of the best lenses Pentax has ever offered. You'll love the Night Vision Display mode if you do astro. I assigned the FX1 button to that mode for any time I'm out shooting at night. :)

It would be illogical to ever go down in polymer qualities. The science and tech of high strength polymers is always advancing but the cost doesn't really skyrocket, so it would be crazy not to use the best material available for the purpose. Consider the ubiquitous ultra-strong polymer pistol frames. The K-S2 and K70 (I own both) are both solid and robust bodies, and only the top and a few small parts of the KP and K-1 are not metal, anyway. That person who said that "previous cameras from plastic look better" likely was biased for one reason or another.
That said, I well remember the Minolta XG series. I was working for Minolta as a repair technician in 1978 when that body was unleashed on the US. It was a plastic frame, and I'm not talking about the good kind, either, lol. Screws would commonly strip out and we would have to use a larger one. Not to mention the electronics sucked. There was a constant flood of returned XG's. I always remember one customer's letter where he remarked that he was surprised that his THIRD replaced camera didn't explode in his hands.

That's a phone photo. Most bodies are painted, and the body is metal, except for the top- which must be plastic because WiFi. K-1 has a plastic top. It looks great, despite what Chris Niccolls says.

The silver and black lenses look equally good on the silver body, for sure. I always thought silver lenses look great on a black body, as well- win/win!
I've ended up with the largest grip size on mine. And it's good to find that the front wheel is not a problem at all. When the camera is switched on the switch lever is out of the way. I think it goes with the traditional shutter release location very well.
