SMC DA L 18-50 DC WR RE Kit lens. This lens amazes me. I paid ~$100 for it with my K-S2 (used here)- hand held, 50mm, f5.6

I just today got my K-S2 and the new kit lens!! I really like the lens, it performs way beyond its cost and level of lens, IMO!
Here are a couple of shots of a tray of standard size marbles, under harsh florescent lights, with camera steadied on a pillow at ISO800. First frame is as close as I could focus at 50mm and wide open f5.6- pretty impressive I think. 2nd shot is @ f8 and ended up being pulled back slightly. Both are auto WB and only adjusted a little in LR and resized in CS5.

Where you can first see the white fence, go straight up into the clouds. Could be a pixel-sized bird? I always notice such things in my photos in pp (paranoid about it, I guess) but oddly with the K-3 it hasn't happened yet.

Was this wide open (looking at the bit of PF in the trees)? If you resize it for posting, the noise won't appear so prominent. BTW- there is a speck of dust on your sensor, over on the right side...

A couple of DA18-55 mk1 shots with a K10D, first one is at Lake Lanier, Georgia, during a record breaking drought.
