Pentax warranty policies seem inconsistent or at least ambiguous, but my experience with their service has been great!
I sent in a malfunctioning lens that I had purchased used to the Pentax repair center with a letter explaining I was not the original owner, along with a photocopy of the invoice from the previous owner.
Pentax repaired the product for free and sent me a letter of apology for my troubles!
