This shot was badly underexposed. I always have to adjust exposure +2ev in aperture mode for this lens. I was going to delete it, but decied to play around with it in Lightroom first. Glad I did. It has a Rembrandt quality to it that I like.:p

v5planet,
Fun portait! Hope my kids don't see it or I expect I'll be getting a lot of shots like this! I love the 2nd and 3rd shots. Beautiful tones. Thanks for sharing.

Steinback and dude163, thanks for the info on making my own hood. I think I will do this and look into getting a Cokin setup as kindly suggested by Ira. NoMaD, thanks for the comment on that first photo of my daughter. I aspire to take portraits as good as yours, unless the model is my daughter!

A few days ago I got my second Takumar, the 135mm f/2.5, what a joy to hold:D! The lens has quite a dent that prevents me from using a screw in hood, so of any one has any recommendations for a hood I could use with this lens given it has a major dent in the filter run, I am all ears.
Anyway here are a few shots I've had the joy of taking with this beauty:

Hi Mike,
Thanks for this insight in to the cropping tool in Lightroom. I had never noticed it and have now started to use it. Very useful!
NoMaD, when you crop in Lightroom, the default is the rule of thirds grid. To change this, go to the tools header in the upper menu and click on Crop Guide Overlay, select diagonal.

Wow, Mike, your killin' me!
I got an S-M-C 50 f/1.4 because I started looking in on this thread. I am thinking of getting the 28 f/3.5 (even though I have the M28 f/3.5 already) but seeing your posts, I am starting to consider getting the 105mm first. Of course, I doubt I can find the same subjects for my photos.:(
Here's a some fun with flare that I had last week with the S-M-C 50mm. Can't do this with my DA15!
Here's another shot taken on the same walk, I think.
Cheers, Doug

Hi All,
I've been enjoying the beautiful photos in this thread for some time and recently got a hold of a Takumar S-M-C 50mm f1.4:D. What a pleasure it is just to hold this lens not to mention use it! I finally got a Pentax screw mount adaptor this week and got to try the lens out on my K200d:p:
Yeah, I'm a happy camper:cool:.
