This is still one of my favourite shots, taken nearly 6 years ago in my garden, just days after receiving the FA 1.8/77 limited (here on a K5)

Thanks for your kind comment!

I think Tokyo is a very "photogenic" city, many building have very interesting architectural details - fun to try to capture these.
When I took this shot I was on my way back from our local sales office to my hotel. I only had the 85mm lens with me and had to focus () on the details, not on the whole scenery. To me this part of the skyscraper looked like there was a cut in the building, quite irritating at first.
The following shot shows that part of the building from a different angle.
Unfortunately I don't have a wide-angle shot to show the complete building

Many thanks for your comment. I agree that in the B&W version the shortcomings of the composition are less obvious.
Now I have a good reason to go back on my motorbike, drive to Sicily and improve the shot:)!

Thanks again,

Well, just a few commenst:
The Q display is not very good for manual focussing, IMO.
Therefor I'm using something like this LCD Viewfinder V1 Displaylupe Sucher Augenmuschel für alle 3 " Zoll Kameras Foto | eBay which significantly improves the chances to nail focus.
You also need to keep in mind that with "long lenses" like the 90mm Tamron or the FA 1.8/77 limited, which I also use with my Q7, you need a short exposure time.
On the Q7 the 90mm Tamron gives you the FOV roughly like a 400mm lens on FF. Unfortunately you will have to select fairly high ISO settings when you want to shot for example with 1/400th (the shot I have posted was shot @ 1/800th) But I prefer a non-blurred but somewhat "grainy" shot over a blurred shot at low ISO.
Hope this makes sense.
