Strong, strong liquor called awamori. It is indigenous to this island, Okinawa.
Inside the cave you can almost taste it in the air.

Thanks. I thought about doing a tight crop but decided against it due to the foreground. I think it adds to the shot.

Thank you!

Thanks. I will always shoot cheap film. If I can find it for less then a buck a roll, I'm game. But these shots are actually different films. Konica Chrome Centuria 200, Fujicolor 100 & Neopan 400.

I can tell. What pro lab you use?
Here in Japan, I send mine to NCPS in Cali. It cost about the same compared to Japanese shops and the yen rate.

Great hyper/zone focusing :D

Yea. The LX would rule the world if it had an AE Lock button for tricky lighting.

Off-topic from above...
Slide shooters! How do you handle tricky lighting with your film cameras that don't have an AE Lock? Shutter speed changing or compensation? With slide not having great latitude like color negative, I tend to shoot it a lot slower.

I believe that is his Nikon 50/1.4 & Nikon F. He could fall, camera land in the road, car hit it, then a boy trip over it and it would still be fine.
Plus, when you have insurance and experience, you know when and when not to have a cap on.

Requiem - The Camera of Taizo Ichinose

My LX with Cosina 55/1.2 was on top of my car when I drove off. Drove to work without a care in the world. Wife watched me leave, picked up my camera and put it on my desk at home. I came home, picked up my camera and went shooting. I wouldn't put two and two together until a few months later when my wife said "Don't leave your camera on top of your car and drive off like last time."
WHAT?!

Nice B&W shot. I haven't shot B&W in awhile.
Experiment? A bit muddy & grainy? No.
This is the worst film ever. I will NEVER use it again and there is nothing GOOD about it. haha.
Not an experiment, a warning to others. lol.

Here is some way cheaper, and 10000x better film.

Pentax LX + DNP Centuria 100 + cz 28/2 or nokton 58/1.4

Pentax LX + Carl Zeiss Distagon 28mm f/2 + Kodak Ektachrome P1600 ( I am never using this film again )

I shot these at the native film speed of 400 but the shop saw 1600 and processed it as such. Maybe that is why it is so grainy. But the P means that it is meant to be pushed to that ISO. The REAL speed of the film is 400 but is DX coded for 1600 but shops don't know the difference. I thought specific instructions to NCPS would be enough, but they STILL processed it at 1600. Oh well. I'll upload more later.

Frank, amazing shots. I almost picked this lens up, but passed at the last minute. The Tamron SP 17 is my choice wide on the LX.

Thanks. That shot was one of 3 that I tried. The other two didn't fair out so well. Japan is a land of contrast. lol. It is fun being here.
