Then I apologize for my mistake. That explains the horizontal division in the image. I'm still not impressed by the image, though - I think it would have been better if the boat roof and remainder of the terrace hadn't been included in the photo, and the clouds still looks oversharpened to me.

I beg to differ. Its obvioulsy quite over-processed. If you open the picture on flickr, you will also see that part of the picture (the mid section) has been cut out leaving some strange remains of a boat on the left side and a terrace on the right. The scene (light and so on) may have been nice, but the rendering after processing isn't.
