Some challengers do: Fujifilm (Fujifilm X and Fujifilm G mounts), Hasselblad (Hasselblad X mount) and Tokina (Sony E mount) for instance.

The HD Pentax-D FA★ 85mm f/1.4 is on the roadmap with the mention "2019." So 2019 if there is no glitch. It has been slightly pushed back by the HD Pentax-D FA 70-200mm F4, appeared out of the blue on the latest roadmap with the mention "2019 Spring."
The Ultra Large Aperture Wide-Angle Single Focus Lens, supposedly HD Pentax-D FA★ 35mm f/1.4, is on the roadmap with the mention "2019 or later"; I don't expect it before 2020 though. Or later.

I'm not sure one can agree with your last sentence. Screw-driven focus mechanisms are less precise than stepper motors or ring ultrasonic motors: the quantum of shifting is (much) bigger and there is necessarily a bit of play among the various elements of the cinematic chain.
