Olympus are not an example to follow nor a comparison to rejoice at I'm afraid. Their imaging business is haemorrhaging:- Sales are dropping: -16% for H1 2019/03 and -18% expected for the whole 2019/03 fiscal year
- Operating loss (excluding one-offs) amounted to 15% of sales during H1 2019/03 and is expected to reach 18% of sales for the whole 2019/03 fiscal year.

Three products in two lines actually:- FF: (i) Pentax K-1 II and (ii) HD Pentax-D FA★ 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW
- WG: (iii) Ricoh WG-60
But I agree: this is a meagre harvest.

The latest camera that was released with at a price point around or under $1,000 is the Nikon D3500 announced on 30 August 2018. RRP is $499 with an 18-55mm kit lens.
Latest release by Canon and Nikon of their 'low-end plasticy stuff'- Canon: EOS 4000D (£330/€380 i.e $385 body only; the lowest launch price of any DSLR), EOS Rebel T7 ($549.99 with an 18-55mm IS kit lens) and EOS M50 ($780 body only), the three of them announced on 26 February 2018.
- Nikon: Nikon D3500 ($499 with an 18-55mm kit lens) announced on 30 August 2018.
Don't let the camera makers' communication fool you. They are trying to move upmarket but the bulk of sales, in particular DSLR sales, comes from entry-level products.
Look at the latest CIPA figures: http://www.cipa.jp/stats/documents/e/d-201808_e.pdf
Average unit production prices over the January-August 2018 period are ¥32,285 ($284) for DSLRs and ¥39,989 ($351) for mirrorless cameras.
Of course these prices are ex works (EXW) prices and you should multiply them by approximately 2 to obtain the corresponding prices but still...

Another example of a dull Photokina (no product announced and a superfluous, gloomy press conference) followed by a damage-control interview: Olympus. Olympus: Full-frame is good for Micro Four Thirds | Camera Jabber
However, the interviewee is the head of the company’s imaging business, not a local product manager and marketing leader, therefore the message conveyed is loud and clear:

'For me the successor to the K-3 is the KP.'
'The KP isn't young, the K-70 isn't young either, for next year we need something; next year is the 100th anniversary of Pentax.'
He would like to see something big for this anniversary 'I remember the LX, which was an anniversary model too (...) not the successor to the K-3, the successor to the K-3 is the KP, but a new camera that would be at the same level for APS-C as the K-1 is for full format (...) a top-level camera.'

Funny: Mr Wolfgang Baus talks about the three large-aperture prime lenses, specifically 50mm, 85mm and 35mm, quotes twice the 35mm focal length, realises from the way the interviewer reacts that something is amiss, repeats '35mm, it's on the roadmap', the interviewer answers 'no, only wide-aperture wide-angle...', then Mr Baus back-pedals and explains that 35mm is his own interpretation, yada yada yada...
