If you just want a MF 50, the best two of the set we looked at are either the A50 f/1.2 or the Carl Zeiss Planar-Makro f/2.
The CZ wins on overall usability, build quality, sharpness across frame, tone, rendering, micro contrast
The A50 f/1.2 scores points on relative small size and weight :-), the ability to get up to F/1.2, bokeh wide open.
It has to be said though that they are very different animals in nature. One is built for resolution, the other for speed.
