Or, the other way around:

The FA645 75mm/2.8 on 645FF corresponds roughly to a 46mm/1.7 on 135FF, or a 31mm/1.15 on APS-C.
The DFA645 55mm/2.8 on 645D corresponds roughly to a 43mm/2.2 on 135FF, or a 28mm/1.4 on APS-C.

55mm is the diagonal of the sensor, so it's the same as a 43mm lens on 35mm film. The 75mm lens is actually closer to using a 55mm on the Spotmatic (it corresponds to 59mm).

Very good points! On FF 645 one could use the FA645 35mm lens instead, which weighs just 560g and costs $2000 (Norwegian shop price minus sales tax).

The second generation 645D just needs to be slightly more compact and quite a bit less expensive, and the MF market will explode. 44x33 isn't that much different from 36x24, those who maintain that MF is a different universe, are missing the point, IMHO. Pentax has already made an MF DSLR that is usable like any other DSLR - if they bring that even further, it will attract even more advanced amateur (or pros - except action shooters) that are interested in even higher IQ than FF can offer. If they make TWO 645Ds - a 44x33 camera priced so it can compete with FF, and a ~56x41 (645FF) camera for the high end, it will look even more attractive.

This rumor just got even more reasonable after today's announcements of the new Samsung NX camera models with wifi and the optional wifi for the D3200!

Most phones provide wi-fi hotspot functionality these days, so you can always use your 3G/4G connection even if the camera itself only supports wifi.

wifi-capable SD cards is nothing new and not the same thing as a camera with an internet-oriented operating system, since it requires a second device to actually do something with the pictures.

But with the release frequency of Debian, we would have to wait 3 years after the camera is released to get a stable release for it :p
