What changeover? physically speaking, Sigma SA mount has a lot in common with K mount, apart from the electronic lens communication protocols and the focus flange which are the same as Canon EF mount Lenses...I don't buy this excuse.

Tell me, exactly when does a famous photographer switching mounts inspire others to follow, out of their own interests? I work professionally and when my colleagues and I hear of some "famous" C-grade photographer is switching mounts...again.... the news is received with the most common reactions being facepalming, eye-rolling, and other expressions of derision.
Hey, making wide aperture primes in small form factors is the principal advantage of going mirrorless I can't blame Fuji for working that advantage for all its got. I mean it would be profoundly weird if Fuji released a 300mm f/2.8 lens, even if it was designed with an imaging circle that only just covered APS-C a lens like that would have essentially no difference from any other 300mm f/2.8 lens for full format - which is big, and bulky.

such cameras have existed in the past but in all instances they failed to catch much attention.

...Or the third party lens makers get assimilated into larger brands, and in a failed attempt to become dominant over the evaporating user base, the camera companies cease to innovate, their product lines stagnate and the companies themselves falter.

Just from the thread title it is apparent you spend too much time on DPR.
You're being a tad hyperbolic - the lenses that have been designed and produced for the K1 are rather good, some of which do not have any direct equivalent from anyone else. Pentax cameras are fun to work with, you can buy a 1970s K 50mm f/1.4 and have a blast with it - or you can buy a DFA15-30mm f/2.8 zoom have have fun with a modern ultrawide lens. I can't help but get a bit annoyed when people complain about pentax lacking lenses - there are millions of them out there: some are old and very cheap, some are modern and expensive - there is something out there for everyone. But if you can't help but look wistfully at the new shiny Sigma ART lenses or new Canon L lenses and cameras with sensors that are two generations behind sonys then go back to that crowd.
