Thanks for the information. That's good to know. Like I said, I was surprised, though I did see that they are much better at base ISO.

I was on flickr yesterday looking at images from the Samyang 85 f1.4, and was *shocked* that after just a couple, I could tell from the 100% view whether it was a Canon image or not by the noisy shadows and smeared high-iso. I couldn't tell the difference between the Nikon and Pentax images reliably, even at 100% (even though I've heard Nikon uses more aggressive noise reduction). Note that almost all of the images were at ISO400 or better.

I would really be interested to know how big a print one would have to make to see the same difference.

If you like burgers, there's only one way to truly screw 'em up, and millions of Americans do it every time they cook 'em - overcook 'em while squeezing the juice out of them with the spatula. :D I never liked home-made burgers when I was younger because they were always dry, dessicated pieces of shoe leather. Now that I know the secret, I've not had better burgers out than I make at home.

That was a really good picture of a burger, though. Made me all hungry just now looking at it again. We need a food thread... "The Lunch Pix Club" lol.

It's not the animal fats that are the problem! It's the trans fats... maybe it's got a trans-fat-free bun. :D

I just had to stop and say "wow"... Great detail across the frame for a sun-in picture! (excellent images, too, maestro!)

So what you're saying is that I should KEEP the 10-20, AND get the DA15? Thanks. I'll let my wife know you said so. I'm sure it will be ok. :D After all, Father's Day is just around the corner... EDIT: ( and my 43ltd will be here tomorrow :) )

I certainly would like to have Pentax glass in every slot where it's available. The glass is why I came here, anyway :D. As you say, the Pentax colors :D

I *think* it will be an excellent swap for me, but I wanted to see if there were any gotchas or significant seller's remorse in re 10-20. I carry big lenses already (50-135, Tamron 180mm f2.5, etc), and the 10-20 just loses out. The pocket that holds the 10-20 holds my 44m and my FA 35 f2. :D

Thanks for the perspective!

Question for the club - jsherman, et al. I'm considering selling my Samsung 10-20 f4-5.6 and getting the DA15. Not because I dislike the 10-20, but because it takes up so much room in my bag (which is also my daily-carry laptop backpack) that I leave it at home more often than not. Has anyone done this switch, and how do they feel about it now?

I love the images you guys post - troll this thread regularly for new ones. I love the way the LTDs feel, but none of the other DAs have been keepers for me. The 35 lost out to the FA35 f2 AL; the DA70 lost out to the Helios 44M and the FA43LTD (I know that sounds strange, but the 70mm was too long for my tastes, and not sufficiently faster or better than my DA* 50-135 to justify keeping it).

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance...
