A photo from the 70s - my dad with the Spottie and 50mm f1.4 Takumar. He gave it to me 20 years later and that started me with Pentax. What a legacy. |

Tripod is standing closed in front of right leg- seems a bit flimsy for this setup though...

There seems to be a leg of a support in front of his legs. He was standing still waiting (possibly to get his breath back before moving another 100m) and the tripod was resting on one pod. Not exactly a 5sec setup time when seeing a shot. A certain level of commitment to the craft .

These next couple of pics will save you a bucket of money.
Cape York is the very northernmost top of Queensland, Australia and happens to be the very northernmost tip of all of mainland Australia (the big Island). Every year thousands of tourists travel here to be at the very tip and take a photo of themselves next to a shoddy sign planted in a 22 litre drum of cement that tells them of the fact.
First image is of the ant trail as they walk to the tip.
Second image is of the tourists taking each others' photos. And chimping.
Now you won't have to spend the 3 day round trip by car from Cairns to do the same photo.
Told you I would save you some money. Me? I'm paid to be here.
