The christmas beetles were in the flowering Eucalyptus tree. These were but two individuals among the two dozen on the same flowering branch. Actual size is about 35mm long.

Out and about with the DA55-300 - these were at full stretch and a significant crop non the K3. PP with Photoscape X Pro

Unrelated convergence of nomenclature: Yamaha named a smallish dual purpose bike after the Serow in 80's and 90's. Not sure it was related to the resurgance in protectionthe animal was afforded in its home country. Sponsorship deal or not?

Hi Craig - I happened to take a pic of a Nanchang CJ6 a couple of weeks ago which I posted in the aircraft spotting thread. The shape of the engine cowl seems a close match and the dihedral of the wings is very close as well. Not sure the earlier Dauntless had this wing shape. If the aircraft call sign can be discerned then it can be googled and the identification made.

This is odd behaviour is it not? Saw a tv show recently where a raptor had to be rexcued due to its wings becoming waterlogged and it was unable to launch itself into the air until it had been moved onto a perch above waterline to dry out. Is that what was happening here or was the bird just cooling off with a quick dip?

Agree with Walter and Albert, that the shots here are beautiful

Thats true but I said to the camera before taking the shot, 'just think of it as a landscape with dynamic elements' and it got over itself. ;) Thank you for commenting..
