I like it as it still has a functioning manual Aperture so it can be used on the older cameras

Good luck with that one - I use a Joby product. Simple design concept and seems robust enough. Will see long term.

There are a couple of comprehensive threads about Novoflex pistol grip gear here on the forums - I had some of that stuff 10 years ago - I was too scared to use in highly public paces for fear of attracting negative attention.

Morning Kerrowdown. I purchased a Sunway Photo XB-28II ball head (non leveling) several years ago to put on a Momon travel tripod. It is an excellent size and weight and the engineering is really good for the price. Packaging and carry pouch were a surprise as well. I predict that you will enjoy your new leveling ball head.

On the flexibility theme, a Hyundai Getz can fit a washing machine still in its carton - a colleague asserts that he picked one up and the warehouse people couldn't believe it. A few years later he picked up a crated oven range and the warehouse people remembered that he was the legend who picked up the washing machine 3 years earlier. Drivers' seat forward, rear seats down, short distance = doable.

I like the location choice. Suits the scrambler style. Beautiful machine.

Congratulations!!! Nice choice.

I am spending as much time looking at bike webpages as camera webpages these days - also feeling the itch. Scramblers catch my eye too. Small ones like Mutts though so the re-learn curve will be a bit shallower.

Should be just like riding a bike no? Its the other drivers you need to keep an eye on...

A friend sent me a K1000 series 1 in a pentax badged soft snoot case with a K55mm f1:2. The sender was the original owner from the early seventies and it had been with her on the Kakadu track in New Guinea and on a motorcyle up the East Coast of Australia. The case took most of the beating luckily. Superficially a bit grubby and bits of corrosion where metal fastenings from the neck strap had been touching the aluminium. The shutter is frozen and the seals need replacing. I didnt check the meter with a fresh battery.

Off to Eric it has been sent after a bit of a cosmetic overhaul. The leatherette is a bit rust stained and lifting along the front right side where the sweaty right palm touches it. Dark green leatherette is on the horizon. Colour choice input provided by the previous owner but I was going dark green or grey anyway.

The lens had fungus through it but a quick open up cleaned that out. Unfortunately the rear doublet has light balsam separation hazing clearly visible. Still usable but not perfect unfortunately.

We will see how thisturns out.

Compressed air can sometimes cure this issue if sprayed under the key. Or a good shake and vacuuming. Can help in the short term.

New leatherette from Hugo Studio for my silver MX. Very satisfied - fit to body was perfect to micromillimeter.

I replaced a ten year old generic ball head that weighs 400gms and is 10cm high with this new low profile one. The old one was making a bit of a scritching noise around the ball as it was adjusted and had that 2-3mm droop when adjustment was finished - not an issue for landscapes but hopeless for macro work. The new one weighs about a third the weight and stands only 7cm high so is much better for travel. The total weight with momon tripod is less than the previous ball head alone. Very happy.

Product is a Sunway Foto XB-28 II series low profile ball head. Reading the manual helps. If the little turn handle fouls on the base of the camera when adjusting pull the handle out - reposition and twist again so like a ratchet spanner sort of. Very cool.
MaXie is getting new leather clothes. Please pardon the undressed state.

The extension tube may be useful for aiding in removal of the unit from the camera mount by moving the rear standard further out from under the horn of the onboard flash (depending on the body in use). Had a nervous moment one time when I couldn't get a bellows off my K20. Figured it out eventually.

Along the same lines Chris I studied at Otago University in Dunedin NZ in the 1970s and the campus was located next to the Greggs Coffee factory, The regular coffee roasting smell was not thirst inducing - I think it was not so much roasting but more the burning of the by products in the exhausts and chimneys. On other days the facility dried and packed various herbs and spices - far more aromatic.

About the same time I worked in a bakery as a student holiday job and the smell of fresh bread just became commonplace and was no longer appealing. It is again now though. Moderation in all things eh...

A dark red plastic 'soft shutter' release for the MX. $3 with free postage - had to come via sea mail. Just a bit of bling!!! A little o ring sits under the button to provide the softness, but the plastic button's male thread isnt long enough to reach the female thread in the button when the o ring is in place. So still a hard shutter but blinged up. Makes me smile. Reminds me of the cameras people cover in diamanties and glitter a bit but I will stop here.

Nice one! Wait until the wind is blowing the right way and have a very large smokey fire for a day or two to get rid of the remaining roots and wood chips and add a couple of car tyres...;)

Second hand Tamron 2C9FH lens hood for the Tamron 90 F2.8 Macro Di SP i purchasedf 12 months ago second hand that had no hood but everything else including box and packing - i wonder whether the two parts were originally together were separated and have become reunited via different sellers - both in Australia.

Pleased to have this hood although rather superflouus on this lens as its objective lens is, like many macro lenses already very recessed. I try to use a hood at all times as I do not have UV filters on any of my lenses.

"Off course a silver*K3*and grip why forget the bag !"

The expression 'forget the bag' means, "I am not looking at the new bag you are showing us because that silver K3 is so beautiful."
