Thanks todd. I hardly ever use my phone in landscape mode (other than checking out the occasional video or shooting in landscape mode) so I don't run into the issue of the app not allowing editing in that orientation. Regarding the lack of manual crop function.. since VSCO is all about film emulation, my guess is that they've only included the most common film print ratios.
I find that so far there's not one single mobile photo editing app that does everything that I may want it to do. I also have Snapseed as well and it's pretty capable but overall I like the look of what I get from VSCO Cam. Maybe you can edit in VSCO first and then use Snapseed for final cropping if you need to?
My workflow is:
- capture using Camera FV-5
- import/edit w/ VSCO Cam
- if uploading to Instagram, first use Square Instasize to add border to make the photo a square ratio
- if uploading to Facebook, use Reduce Photo Size to shrink it for better display on FB

I've posted this photo before but with the recent release of VSCO Cam for Android, which has been out on the iPhone for a while now, I'm re-editing some of my older photos to make them look more how I want them to. With other mobile phone photo editing apps, I usually can't get the photos to look the way I want. I've used VSCO for Lightroom so thought I'd give the mobile app a try.. it's still kinda buggy on my Galaxy S2 (it might run better on newer generation phones like the S3 or S4) but so far I like what it can do. |

Here's a new one.. edited in-phone first via Pixlr-o-matic but it looked like noise was introduced during the editing process so I imported it into Photoshop to clean it up and sharpen it : |

Your photo makes me miss my Gixxer. :( Did you shoot the pano with a built in panorama function or use an app?
