Last weekend, as VP of BikeDE Advocacy Group, I manned our table at the Newark Delaware Street Festival. Maybe I'm biased, but all I saw was bicycles everywhere.
That's my bike, the sweet thing. The wind was so bad that we used our bicycles to anchor the tents down so they didn't blow away like hot air balloons. With over $6000 of bicycle mechanical ballast, it gave an artsy effect that pleased us.
This was my favorite photo of the day...a sweet Dad offers his fashion-conscious daughter advice on the correct placement of her reflective bicycle safety anklet. |

It's taken a while but most US cities have bike racks on their buses. Some cities, like Portland, are heaven for bicyclists with the whole area very very bike friendly.
No, I don't have to bike far to work. The back pack and panniers are for all the stuff I drag back and forth to work, for grocery shopping, for camera equipment, and once I tried to stuff my Dachshund in the panneir but she protested.
