I looked up the Dirigo, looks like a perfect kayak for overnighting on a river. Old Town makes quality kayaks and canoes.

Yep sit on top, supposed to be the most stable, very good for my usage. I was hoping to go out this morning, but predicted high winds and rain kept from it, Maybe tomorrow

My latest photography acquisition was a kayak, of course I also had to get a few accessories to go with it. There is a lot of water where I live and the salt marshes are intriguing, this can get me to places that I otherwise could not. I did my research to get a stable kayak with a comfortable seat, oddly mentioned in several articles and reviews. Before this I did not know how many specialized kayak types there were, basically, mine is a lower end fishing kayak. It has a nice molded in stowage area behind the seat which has plenty of room for my Pelican case with bungee cords to hold it in place. Attachment 553666 |

I bought a Super Takumar 150/4 this afternoon. Looks very good in the photos, and actually has the hood. I was not looking for this lens, but it looks very clean, and having the hood and a generic M42 adapter kind of sealed the deal. The seller has already prepped for ship and I have a tracking number, maybe I'll get it before Christmas.

I can remember years ago, my Mom got neckties that were made by the blind, unfortunately they looked the part.
Congratulations, that's on my wish list.
I was on the fence over the 150-450 and the DA rear converter. I was not sure about the TC, but I kept seeing good results, but then when B&H dropped the price down last week, I decided to go ahead, so I could use it now because the 150-450 would be not be happening for a while. So I got it Friday, haven't got to use it much yet, but I really like it so far with the DA*300. Just fooling around I tried it with a 50 macro too, not bad. I've got a couple of M42 items that I haven't got to use yet, so I'll revisit with them later.

I just recieved a Tamron SP AF Di 90mm f2.8 macro 1:1 lens bought from an individual on ebay. I was shocked because I was the only bidder so I go it at a very good price. It is in pristine condition including the box, pouch, caps, hood, and even th UV filter the original owner kept on the lens. I always try to only look at auctions from people that don't have a lot of auctions, they usually are honestly getting rid of a lens or two they don't use. I was shocked to see some lenses listed as excellent condition but with slight haze that won't affect your photos. New standard of excellence I guess.

I'd give you 10 boxes of the cookies for the lens, not those generic WalMart ones either, I'd make it the Keebler, or whoever makes them. LOL, congratulations!

Last weekend I was in a camera store and pickup up a used Sony a6000 and an 18-55 lens. I had been interested in mirrorless some and had looked at Sony and Fuji. I didn't really expect to buy one but it was very clean with a good price, and turned out to only have about 4100 shutter actuations. A couple days later I ordered a new 20/2.8 prime for it, then found a used 16/2.8 prime for a super price. haven't had too many opportunities with it yet but son far it's good. I think my main reason to get it was the really fast autofocus. It's more compact than I expected, especially with that 20mm lens on it. Of course I keep thinking for a little more I could have had a KP!
