Thanks for your comments. Shot #1 was with a K100D and DA 16-45mm set at 21mm, EXIF was 1/15 sec, f/6.7, iso 400. I also used a tripod.

I did some more work on #1. I cropped it a little - anyone think this shot is better cropped?

Good suggestion. Next time, I'll tell my wife to go and have a sit while I frame the shot. :) But knowing my wife, the shot will still not have anyone on the bench. ;)

Thanks for the comments. I was having a hard time judging these two shots. I have to agree the first shot has a stronger focal point. I like the second one, but I guess the branch over the walkway in the second is too distracting.
