I think so. Graham Watson popularized the use of flash in cycling photography many moons ago.

Playing around with the K-3's FPS. Not bad, but my Nikon V1 @60FPS would have provided more steps. Then again, it would have more DOF.

Here are some recent shots with the DA*50-135. Indoors, pretty dim, through a glass pane. DId some quick PP, but no extensive editing or NR applied

Overall, the K-3 AF was good and the DA*50-135, not considered a fast focusing lens, did fine. I had the camera set to AF-priority so I didn't get the vaunted 8.3 FPS. And I'm much more confident with the K-3 AF vs. the K-5. Kudos Pentax for the leap forward!

Thx amy! I used AF.C/Select 2 (aka Sel Small on the Info panel). I would then move the focus point to where I wanted in the frame and try to keep the subject within the immediate area (the 8 focus points surrounding the selected point. Had there been less stuff in the background I might have chosen another mode.

I think ;)
I'm not delusional though - Canon and Nikon still have better AF, but Pentax is now closer. Sure, you can get action with the older models, but with the K-3 I feel more confident.
