Upgrading to K1 or sticking with APS-C

Added a K-1 coming up from a K-5IIs and retiring a K-20. Agreed on the prior members' comments, purchasing the K-1 is only the start. At the time, the K-5IIs was a light-years departure from the K-20 and, with it, put together a reasonable collection of APS-C style lenses to further expand the capabilities.
At first use of the K-1, had some older K mount auto-focus FF lenses (Pentax, Tamron) and although the newer camera technology did breath a little life into them, they just seem to lacking something when installed on the K-1 (compared to the performance of APS-C lenses on the K-5IIs). Although you can use the APS-C designed lenses on the K-1 in "crop mode", it realistically doesn't seem to be worth it...almost a duplicate of the K-5IIs performance...nothing phenomenal. Also, and to be honest, have from time to time mistakenly "cropped" off a foot or a finger when shooting "tight" and missing the viewfinder's indicator line when using the crop mode with the K-1. It's my live and learn lessons but still frustrating.
To be fair to the K-1 bought a D-FA 28-105 and happy to report that brought the K-1 into its own! Since that time, have purchased some other FF lenses and I'm really starting to see what this beast can do. It's got it but you'll need a complimentary set of lenses to experience it.
So, today, if I'm shooting close up or portraits, etc. will most likely use the K-1. If it's landscape or a wild life outing, I'll likely revert to the K-5IIs as it has reliable performance and the 1.5 crop factor helps with adding range to the big lenses.
Finally, perhaps the most annoying part of upgrading the lens collection is the fact most third party lenses are no longer offering Pentax mounts and the used stuff (around here) is thin (unless you go for the older technology which really doesn't allow the K-1's technology to shine). I've resigned myself to the fact if there's a need, I'll likely be buying Pentax branded and that'll take a little more piggy bank time compared to the past.
