I'm not either and seldom use it. But sometimes it helps to see the shot magnified before taking the shot. I had to do that before my eye surgery. And you're welcome!

Hope you find that 2x magnifier soon.

I was thinking you could use live view and magnify the image before taking the shot. Don't know how that works on the K-3 or the K-500 because I have a K-50 but that works for a lot of people, so I've read on here. Or use Catch-in-Focus, perhaps.

dcshooter is right about the close focusing after lasik. I had mine done two years ago and still need 2.5 readers to see up close. Having said that, I use the Pentax O-ME53 on my K-50 now.
