I like the B&W version best, too.
Ha! Indeed. More here: Valeria - a set on Flickr
(From a shoot Friday; still going through 'em.)
Great portrait!

@Douglas, @Doug, thanks very much. Here's the color version:
I had a bunch of new(-ish) glass to try out on that shoot but I think that 135 still wins it as my favorite outdoor portrait lens.

maybe NSFW? I guess it depends on where you "W"
you don't have to be a kid to like playing in the sprinkler on a hot summer day... |

Thanks! (More here, mostly from the 135 with some DA 35 and A 50 1.7 thrown in: alan_smithee_photos)
I like the focus action. This is the first shoot I've done since installing a split prism focusing screen (katzeye) and that really helped a lot. (When I checked the calibration it seems like it's front focusing a bit so I'll probably need to monkey with the shims. Thank goodness for the threads on that elsewhere). I highly recommend getting a screen like that.
The other things I tend to do is use medium-ish aperture (5.6 for most of these) so the DOF is a little more forgiving. And I sometimes snap a couple shots at a go with a tiny focus adjustment in between (at least this was my strategy until I get the focusing screen dialed in).
