no need to. I stop here. it is pointless arguing with a person who misses the point. and I'm offended the manner the examples were presented. I could had gone the same road and rebut the same arguments and saying other particular people who see themselves so high and mighty are no better. but that does not make me any better than that person and makes me sound racist. I'm not Chinese, but I'm aware that diligence and discipline in cooking has nothing to do with ethnicity. an American, European and Asian are equally capable of doing silly or dreadful things with their food, food cuisine differences is based on ethnicity/culture is. that is the point, and I hope our friend understands it by now. otherwise, pointless. talk to me when you get the point.

I dunno where your anger is coming from. but you are clearly missing my point. culture or ethnicity has nothing to do with malpractice. you are threading waters to being a racist. this is as far as what your statement is leading to.

it is a joke when people associate malpractice with culture or ethnicity. it is offensive when people categorize ethnicity with certain malpractices? you should know better of all people.

no worries. sushi doesn't appeal me either. no matter how people say it's good. it's not because of the thought that it's raw, but rather how it tastes on my palette. and yes, I already tried it with soy and wasabe. still does not soothe my taste. I'd stick with tempura and teriyaki which are my favorites.

it's funny that you mentioned this, but there is some truth to this. I remember some time ago when my wife was watching the home channel where the topic was about food prep. there was this lady that was so happy and admired her new food prep method and self-professed that she discovered it first. and if trying to impress everyone watching. both me and my wife laughed since the food prep that she was talking about so much is drying out fish in the sun and putting some seasoning on it.

it's obvious that some people are not yet aware of other people's cuisine due to cultural differences.

careful, you might grose out some people.

*anyway, back to Takumar images.

Ira, I don't have a problem with you not eating there nor bringing your family. I'm not encouraging you either. I'm just saying facts about dried food which you aren't aware of.

if it's illegal to do such food prep, then it's illegal. no problem with it. but the real problem lies on the food prep that we don't see as well. the one the is behind closed doors. I believe it is equally illegal and at times could be much worse than what you had seen. I'm just saying that you should be careful just as well on restaurants that you dont see how their food is being prepared. that was the other point that I was saying.

legality is only one issue, food prep diligence is another. whether seen or not. best way would be to call a food health inspector before you go and eat in a particular restaurant. because I tell you, you can't be certain how food is being prepared behind closed doors.

btw, food preparations are never looked presentable before they get cooked. they look disgusting before they get served in your plate. just a fact about cooking.

personally, I don't feel disgusted at all with the meat wind chimes. what is more worrying is the food preparations that you don't actually see. who knows, they could had simply put the meat at the back area and dip them with a saucy fecal matter. or let's say a disgruntled employee with herpes spat on your bowl of soup or added any other special ingredient to your meal. the point is, just because what you don't see makes a food necessarily had undergone careful food prep method. it won't gross you out since you have no idea of it, but still it's disgusting. especially if you learned about it.

with regards to sun-dried foods (meat, fish, vegetables, seeds, etc...), it has been going on as old as the history of mankind learned how to cook. it's not a new discovery.

honestly, the food that you eat in a fancy restaurant may look presentable and makes you wanna eat it. but the truth is, you never know how those were prepared or how they were made. actually, they can be much worse than the sun-dried meat. even an innocent looking delicious soup could be made out of something you cant imagine or wont dare to find out.

now that you mentioned it, I'm getting some goosebumps already. late last night, I was reading on another forum and some stupid member made a joke concerning serial killer dressed up as a clown breaking into houses during the middle of the night. it spooked me out since it followed the same concept of Ringu cycle. basturd.

I always wanted to take a frontal close-up shot. you know, something like one of those billiard mag cover. but that is impossible unless the person is willing to pose for you for a minute.

the SMC Pentax 35/3.5 suddenly became difficult to find all of a sudden. last year there were a lot of these being sold in the internet for a very cheap price. I even saw a few copies sold for $50 on occasions. I was about to get one but I just remembered that I have an FA35/2. :D
