Gossen Lunasix (Euro-version), original version featuring -8 LV to +24 LV sensitivity!

Pentax K-3, XR Rikenon 35/2.8

Yes, it works with 1.5V silver cell using 1.3V step-down adapter from Kanto Camera. It is accurate too.

Your observation is part of why so many continue to shoot both film and digital. As for IQ...if one does snapshots, that is your quality; if for other purposes, the quality follows the intent and often enough the results may be digitized to match that of the various 20Mpx ILC out there (e.g. Nikon D500).*

Steve

* Emphasizing that there are zero pixels in a film capture and that a digitized version is always a lossey copy.

Edward Weston might be the exception to prove those rules, but some things are "known" intuitively as a matter of art, so he gets a pass.

All that said and on a different, but related note; I spent some time yesterday with the Gossen Lumisix user guide from 1961 and was struck with how little of the guide (4 pages of 42) addressed actual use of the meters technical features and then only sparsely. Given the complexity of the dials and their usage, that is pretty amazing. The rest was dedicated to the nature of light and creative use to subject. WOW!

There was, of course, a reason for the research, that being my purchase of a mint example of the original Lumisix with its amazing -8 LV low light sensitivity. The meter, with case, is due in from KEH on Black Friday, the 26th. I will be powering it with silver cells using a 1.3V step-down adapter.

I have owned the FA 35/2.0 for over a decade and acquired the f/16 variant XR Rikenon 35/2.8 several months ago. I don't see either lens leaving my possession.

The example archive for the XR Rikenon might be helpful...

The Paramender is pure genius. I just read the description of how it works on camera-wiki.org. Very cool!

Yes, I am acquainted with such. Some cameras (e.g. Canon P) even had parallax-corrected viewfinders. Neither helps with macros of ants. ;)

My first adjustable camera was a Lynx 1000. Sadly, it was lost to theft.

The 1/1000s speed is available at f/1.8, though the top speed is only 1/500s with the same Copal SV on the Lynx 14 with f/1.4 lens...too much diameter to uncover!

Here is my Lynx 1000 with the Hi-Matic 9. Yes, they are both not so svelte.

Yashica Lynx 1000 and Lynx 5000/5000e, both with Copal SV shutters. The Lynx 1000 and Minolta A5 were contemporaries.

The question might then be is the second socket FP or M? Edit: camera-wiki say M; also says camera has over/under LED display.
