I would not have said anything except that I had just spent time with the AF200SA manual. Those were strange little flashes. About a decade ago my former camera repair guy (also dealt in used gear) bought a lot of about 100 (I don't remember where from) thinking that he would sell them as cheap generic auto-thyristor flash and then discovered that they lacked the usual range of stuff on the back. I don't know what became of them. Your AF 160SA is better in that regard. The nice thing about both units is that one could buy an A3000, mount up either model flash and shoot in P mode without much thought to anything other than framing and focus.

At issue is the ease of use with non-dedicated cameras. Missing as compared to the AF200S is the slide-rule calculator as well as the dual Auto ranges and manual option. The AF200S is actually fairly full-featured and is comparable to product like my Vivitar 2600 except that the Viv supports both hot shoe and PC sync.
Are you sure about that? The AF200SA has only an on/off switch and test button on the back.
The AF280T weighs twice as much. As for dimensions...I love my AF280T and while smaller than most currently-available speedlights, it is still pretty chunky. I should add photos of it mounted to my Super Program (its intended mate) as well as my K-3 to add to my review here. This one from Jean Poitiers will have to do ;)

They are not the same unit. The AF200Sa is significantly down-featured and was intended for use on cameras supporting program and aperture-priority exposure automation. It may not work with your camera. Compare the user manuals...

Good choice :) It should do everything you need from a basic auto-thyristor flash without extra bulk or weight.

That is a tough one. The ME has a simple hot shoe and does not offer support for dedicated flash. At the time it was released in 1976, the Auto-Robo was the only Pentax-brand flash. A year later (1977) the AF160, AF200S, and AF16 were available. In practical terms, there are dozens of third-party offerings of that era that are representative. I still use my Vivitar 2600 from that time frame.
