I agree, though I have bad memories associated with skiing with my film camera back-in-the-day. I had been skiing all day with the camera on its standard neck strap (silly me) with no problem. Towards the end of the day I did a little show-off and took a forward fall. The impact sheared BOTH strap lugs from the body of my two year-old Ricoh Singlex TLS.
That little accident made me a Ricoh believer. The strap lugs were repairable and the shop confirmed that was the ONLY damage done in the fall. The Singlex is a pretty sturdy box and served me well for another decade until I lent it to my brother who ultimately pawned it when his funds were down. I found a replacement Singlex a few years ago and still shoot with it when I want a shot of nostalgia.

I like the series above as well. #1 is a gem.
What caught my eye, aside from the cool photo is the dual set of tracks. I have never seen a line that is apparently set up for both standard and narrow gauge.

The short answer is that there is a significant amount of variability between monitors and even some variation between Web browsers.

That is similar to the CA I saw with the DA 15 on my K10D. As Marc says, that is not horrible as CA goes and certainly not at that focal length. It also helps that this is easily repairable in Lightroom or Photoshop or something similar.

That was my experience from the half dozen or so test images I made when I had one on my camera and the only real problem I found with the lens (other than f/4). Moderate CA with some tendency to PF at the margins. The real question is whether other lenses at this focal length that are any better.

Jay,
Beautiful shots with the DA 15 Limited. I had that lens on my camera for a short while at the K7 Road Show when they hit Portland and was pretty impressed. The build is definitely up to Limited standards and the sharpness and contrast is impressive. The copy I tried suffered from a little CA and PF, but no worse than my FA 77 Limited.
Great lens.
