Nice shots with the Tokinas lads!
Just started a poll on LinkedIn asking what FF camera do you use. So far 32 replies, 10 D800 and the rest Canon Mk2 or 3's. I was surprised at the number of D800's.
A recent black and white. |

Thanks Mark, and that's a great shot, beautiful light.
Bossa, for some reason the FL isn't showing up in LR exif, but I think it was 24mm.

Managed to get a few shots in while over on the coast for business. Great sky but the light was a bit flat so decided on a black and white treatment. Taken with the Nikkor 14-24, 10 shot multi exposure. |

All great work on here, I must say. Still getting to terms with the D800, haven't had much opportunity to get out yet, but with 3 weeks off coming up I hope to put it and the 14-24 through their paces.
A black and white treatment of a strange morning sky. |

Finally got my Nikkor 14-24 and went out this morning as there were some storm clouds about. |

A shot from todays photo shoot. Really starting to appreciate this camera (D800) and the Sigma 85. |

Still getting my head around my new D800 and Sigma 85 1.4. The Sigma is just for portraits, but as I am not getting my Nikkor 14-24 until next week, I have been snapping some "test" shots to see how the camera performs.
The amount of detail is staggering. It changes the whole process for me, I am having to relearn post processing! All of the following images are hand held and taken at f8. |

Great shots all!
I had a dilemma tonight. Do I take my wife to bed or my new Sigma 85mm 1.4? For the sake of peace and harmony in the universe of course I will choose......my wife.
But gee it was a close call! What a beautiful piece of equipment! And of course I mean my wife...... ;)

You are an evil person Steve! Naah just can't push the budget quite that far. Although after my wife leaves me I would have plenty of time to take photos!
All the best with the op.

Just waiting to sell my Pentax gear. Was trying to sell it all together but I am now thinking this wasn't a good idea and that it may be better to split it all up.
Can't wait to get my hands on a D800. Will be sad to see my K5 go an esp the DA 50-135, fantastic lens!

Thanks for that. Well I guess being sharp in the middle is exactly what you want for portraits.

Bossa, I notice you have the Sigma 85mm. I am considering getting this lens for my portrait work. Am getting the 14-24mm so can't afford anything else too expensive at the moment. What are your thoughts on this lens on the D800?
