Don't forget the Q's flash when raised. That resembles a Transformer more than any other Pentax product I know of. Now I'm connecting my Hot Shoe Adapter F, Hot Shoe Adapter Fg, F5, and F5p cables the the Q to see if it comes alive.
It will be nice to see some members share examples with the new 50 when it is available.

Agreed. I'm guessing the SDM in the 645 lenses is very different from the SDM in the DA and DA* lenses.

Impatience is one thing, and intolerance is another. If the new lens is something any of you desire, purchase it when it's released. It's certainly okay to eagerly await the day you mount the new lens to your camera. However, no amount of complaining will decrease the time until the lens arrives on your porch or in your local camera store.
We shouldn't tolerate inappropriate comments from either camp. But we should also tolerate each others' opinions. If you can't tolerate the wait, no one is stopping you from leaving Pentax and finding another brand with the lenses you need. Each brand of camera has their own strengths and weaknesses. Pick the tools that meet the needs of your craft. Again, If Pentax doesn't have the tools you need to create images, go with something else that does, or (im)patiently wait until Pentax has the tool.

Yes. I've tried a few DA Limited lenses and found them to be technical marvels, but too clinical. Too sterile. For this reason alone I've been extremely appreciative of the FA Limited and FA* lenses.

Apparently you haven't used the FA Limited lenses.
I'm not sure why people are complaining. There is a great selection of lenses right now, both past and present. I would rather any company, not just Pentax, slow down to get a product right. I think the DA* lenses were a bit rushed with the "me too" silent-focusing motors. If Pentax would have delayed those to get the SDM right, things would be different now.
Plus, the FA 50 1.4, DA 50 1.8, D FA 50 2.8 lenses are currently available, as well as the DA* 55 1.4 and FA 43 1.9 lenses. Who's complaining about the Pentax lens lineup? You sound a little silly right now. Personally, I don’t need another 50mm, the 43mm meets my needs.
