The K-1 uses a new eye-cup (Eyecup FT) compared to the K-3/K-3 II (Eyecup FS). However I think it is likely that many Pentax-compatible eyecups and eye-cup accessories (like the O-ME 53 magnifying eyepiece and similar) will fit the K-1 without getting in the way of the flippy screen, provided they don't hang below the eyepiece too much.

Thanks for the hands-on report. Good to hear about the subdued shutter, and the good handling of the camera.
It's weird, but every time I see a K-1, the rear-LCD seems larger than the K-3 LCD screen, even though the dimensions (3.2 inch diagonal) are identical.
