Like M.2 SSD's or mobile phone SoC's. Plenty of options, I think, to do something that enables compact, flexible and high-performance hardware plug-ins to enter the system.
Ricoh kind of went down that path with the now discontinued GX-R APS-C system. I'm not sure how practical it would be to to extend the GX-R concept into a DSLR system, however. But Ricoh have solid experience with that kind of modular system approach. So I wouldn't totally rule that out in future. :)

Would certainly help development timetables, economics - and usability too. The way buttons (eg image playback) on the back jumped around K3 to K-1 is a periodic nuisance for me.
The K-I II set a good example for the future, in my opinion, with the K-1 to K-1 II upgrade service. Keep the body, change selected hardware modules inside, upgrade firmware, add a new sticker to the body, voila!, new camera.
If Ricoh decided to choose a standard body design as the platform for all their future camera upgrades for 5 years (eg KP body for APS-C, K-1 body for FF) that wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

FWIW, when tested on APS-C, lenstip.com found the vignetting to be similar wide open between the lenses: DAL 35 - -0.99 EV (29%) vs FA 35 0.79 EV (24%).
The visual samples I've seen of the DAL 35 on FF don't seem to show much of an issue in normal use.

There was already the very budget DA 35 f2.4 AL: plastic fantastic but a decent lens and also FF OK by all accounts.
So now Pentax has four 30-mm ish full-frame compatible lenses that will be floating around stores for a while:
-the FA 31 f1.8,
-the DA 35 f2.4 AL,
-the FA 35 f2 (current model),
-the FA 35 f2 (new model).
Plus the Sigma 35 f1.4 still seems to be in production too.
Even Canon and Nikon users must be jealous :)
Now we need some wider (~20-28mm) full-frame primes pls Pentax.
