SR was on. The shot with the 300 was at 1/125th. Later testing on tripod and monopod confirmed the problem was the lens. I mostly shoot in a very variable environment, even a monopod is a pain.

Some of you may have been wondering why I haven't been spamming the thread with shots using my shiny new 150-450, Well when it arrived it was sick, COVID probably, a little fuzzy - front focusing - beyond the range of fine focus adjustment.
Anyway, it's back from the Doctors and seems healthier. Unfortunately the weather says it needs a few days rest.
Some examples. First is with the DA*300, second is the same shot with the 150-450 (next day but same conditions and framing) third is one of Fujii Sans test shots after calibration:

It took me a bit over twenty minutes to find them (which was about twenty seconds after I gave up, I turned around to leave and there they were).
1/ Dad and the kids.
2/ Mum.
3/ Dad.
4/ Mum.
5/ The kids.
6/ A different Dad still on the nest.

Thanks, she was just at head height. She's been missing (I mean I couldn't find her) for about a week, I only found her this time because I spotted dad and the kids. She disappeared after very strong winds brought some trees down in the area. I was very pleased to see her again.
Last year she had a favourite spot about chest height which was really nice.

That's the Adult Female (CSIRO middle image). The Juvenile (left hand image) says: lacks red in uppertail-coverts; duller supercilium and crown spots than Adult.
Mine has bright white spots, red uppertail-coverts and no yellow throat. It may be an older juvenile male with the missing yellow throat indicating breeding age but it seems nobody knows. It's a bit of a puzzle.

Well, today I got my first juvenile Spotted Pardalote :)
But there's a problem.
In the first shot you will see Dad, white spots and yellow throat (mum/mom would have yellow spots and a beige throat).
Junior has white spots and a beige throat. So is junior a boy or a girl? My books don't tell me, they only mention female juveniles.
