There are many things that you can also do too. Like for instance, work a location. I don't know if that was the only shot you took there, but you could move over to the right a bit, eliminating the bushes, and using the street lamps to lead the eye up to the light house. Great sky and colors in the shot along with the background. Like Norm posted, HDR also, could bring out a lot of other aspects. I am guessing that you could have probably pulled 20 or 30 different perspectives out of that location. Perhaps one or two shots would have been spectacular - 10 to 20% is not bad at all. ... and the "film" is essentially free!
They there is cropping, and other post processing that you can apply to help the images along.
But you had a wonderful start, great location, great light and sky, wonderful subject....
