I am trying to decide how best to approach the overall set. Comments like yours I find to be very helpful in deciding how much is either not enough or too much. I have another 50 or so, that I am trying to decide on. Inside one utility they were just right, however when exported as just plain TIFFs and viewed through the Windows viewing utilities - they are way too much.

Hi Jerry, as I was saying above, it is very helpful to me to have other eyes respond...

I'm very surprised at how these turned out given that at 8mm, each pixel on the sensor is representing a pretty large amount of area. The 8-16 renders very well and I was somewhat afraid of flare from the 18-35. During this trip, I have found that the 18-35 appears to loose something the wider open it is, as opposed to being stopped down. So, I stayed with the wider lens. I am thinking about spending a dollar or two and having this printed (perhaps both #1 and #2) over at Costco. Perhaps something like a 12 x 18 (not too large, but I think at 20x30 it would break down), but for $4 just to see how it holds up being printed and hang it on the wall.

Thanks everyone for the comments!!

Was in the Boston area on business for a coupe of weeks. In the evening, I escaped - anywhere to take pictures. This is Plymouth harbor, and the fish market / cafe on the wharf is wonderful by the way. I have more, but I am not happy with the processing, so I need to re-do them - yet again.

I do remember standing there with the 8-16 on and wondering if I should swap to the 18-35 and deciding against it. Stupid decision. I should have swapped lenses.

The first three are somewhat the same image. The first two are process slightly differently, but essentially cropped from the third image, which is just a 1/4 of a full frame (just a strip cropped out). I should have gone with the 18-35 and shot so as to be able to keep the full frame with the detail, rather than about 20% of the frame.

The last two are just from LightRoom, while the first two had some tone mapping applied. What are the thoughts of just LR vs a bit of tone mapping?
