Yes, that works for me, except it takes 3 filter rings to clear the hood for me on my FA31.
EDIT: I should mention that I have not used a filter on the end of the rings. I just use the rings to make a hood that covers 360 degrees and so I can use a regular lens cap. Also I get my empty filter rings from 2filter.com.

Thanks for the reassurance. I am leaning towards getting one, I just have to wait out my self imposed cooling down period. :D
Also I need to wait for Amazon to get some in stock as I have some gift cards to use up. Oh and I need to sell a lens or two for proceeds...

Great shots, everyone. I am thinking of selling off a couple lenses to pick up a DA15, but I have two questions for you all: How often do you think "if only this was a little wider I could get that shot", and what settings/subjects make you think that?
