Thanks a bunch! I really like these as well :)
They're so colorful and sharp, they almost look like digital shots.
I have more photos coming up from the same roll, different subjects though.

Quite a Rothko-esque shot there, Colton. I like it a lot!

Took a closer look at the negatives and yes, it does show up all the way through to the sprocket holes. But on the entire roll, there's only 5 streaks and their locations are not related to longer intervals between those frames.
Oh well, I haven't replaced the seals yet so that is probably the culprit.

Shot in Brussels last summer with my Yashica Electro 35 GS. Some more shots from the same roll show this blue band through the left side, but not all. Could that still be a light leak? Flags by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Yup, they do. But I also see a difference in my digital photos after uploading. Flickr seems to add some contrast and sharpening. Either that, or I'm slowly losing my mind, of course :D

Finally got around to scanning my film, including a roll of Ektar I had in a Yashica Electro GS last year. It's a fickle bugger to convert to positives, but I'm not too dissatisfied with the results so far. I'll definitely retry with your scanning method, Colton!
Edit: First shot is a bit underexposed unfortunately, add in the extra contrast and sharpening that Flickr adds and things start looking a bit nasty.

Last week in Nijmegen there was this art festival type of thing callen "The Big Draw" and now there's drawings everywhere. Shop windows, pavements, trees, walls, nothing was safe! It's so much fun walking through the city now, a very inspiring initiative :)
I live next to an antiquarian and when I walked by I saw this artist working in the shop windows, couldn't resist snapping a pic :) Painter by Laurent Paardekooper, on Flickr

Ouch, no wouldn't call that cheap either. Guess they need to earn back the $20k scanner one way or another.

They really did an awesome job then! In my neck of the woods, decent photolab scanning is way too expensive (about €15, developing alone costs €4 so...).
That'd be great Colton! I'm also an Epson scan user and I recognize that behavior. One frame is fine, the next one is completely blue

Lovely shot Allen, thanks for sharing!
Did you scan this yourself? If so, would you care to explain your process a bit? In my opinion, it's one of the most accurate Ektar scans I've seen so far and I haven't been able to get it done so well.

In your photo of the Fiat 500 I see those murky shadows more prominently. The tires just sort of disappear in the wheel arches. You're definitely right about that and this is not how Portra usually performs. Looking at the highlights, I'm quite sure your exposures are spot on. I presume your film hasn't expired yet, leaving the lab as the only culprit I guess.

Exposure looks about right, although it's quite hard to really get that wrong with modern color neg film. Your shots have the typical Portra look if you ask me (I'm addicted to the stuff :D ). It's not the most punchy film in the world, that's why it works so well in portrait photography. So perhaps it's just that you prefer a different flavor?

Couldn't you ask your lab to not cut your film at all? I usually do that and they keep my film in one piece.
That Agfa Vista looks pretty good by the way, the tones are nice and subtle.

Wow, very nice abstract shot! The dark line below really completes the composition. Without it, I guess it wouldn't have been even half as interesting. Nice!

Awesome colors, especially in that first shot! I have 5 shots left on my first roll of Ektar 100 (Yashica electro 35), now you've made me real excited on what will come out.
Also, long-time inactive forum member. Figured it's time to pick it up again :)
