My sewing sucks but I still end up with a case for these bow shackles.

I'll pass the compliment along. A friend builds his own speakers and amps. I just took the picture.

Yes I am. I didn't make those boxes you see in the background. They are boxes for Forstner bits and other things made by the manufacture.
Here is something I made to develop my film also taken with a SMC Takumar 50/1.4
Click on the picture to follow the flickr link where you will find a link to a video I made building it back in 2007.

A DIY wooden lens case made specifically for the lens shown. The friction-fit top pulls off.

Really nice set! And some really nice hand poses too. I like some of the other ones way better. When comes to pictures of ourselves, we can be really picky. More so than others people seeing them no doubt.

I like the perspective and the model's posture is good. But her hands need to be posed as well instead of hanging straight down at her side. It's not easy to pose a model's hands but it needs to be done.

And the machine typically has a profile for each film. And if they don't have a profile for a particular film they often use one that is close enough. That's how it was when I used a lab many years ago. so maybe ask them if they are all setup for Gold 200 specifically

Dull colors are also a function of the machine converting your film to a digital file and making the prints. Saturation and vividness are settings in a software converting your image. Want more vivid colors? Perhaps edit the file yourself and see if that makes a difference. It certainly makes a difference on my scanned color film. You can't always count on a automatic machine doing exactly what you want.

Gold 200 is not the formula of years ago. It was updated not very long ago. From examples I've seen (not yours) it is a very capable film. If I recall, you can see some really excellent examples in the film thread from several years ago. Different labs, different results. How good and well calibrated the equipment at a lab is will affect the outcome.

This is a x-post with gear porn thread. But here is a SMC Tak 50/1.4 using a cheap M42 -> F-mount adapter. The lens is only good for close still work on this mount. But I think it did a really good job and I'd reach for it again in shots like this. It should do really well on Ricoh's upcoming 35mm format camera. Gear Shot by tuco, on Flickr

LOL, the example the guy says the diagonal does not *exactly* go through the gals pupil. It was close enough! It doesn't make or break a shot being 2mm off. You can't tell looking at the photo with no diagonal lines on it. It conceptually is still there.

Welcome. You must be motivated to shoot those lenses on that camera.
 That's right. Hey, I picked up a Spotmatic F. I got to get out and shoot it.
