Very nice pictures, normhead. Did you use the Pentax 1.4 TC? It seems it works good with your Tamron

Thanks all for your comments. I don't now if the bird is male or female, but its partner where nearby, because they were breeding. Here they are both together.

I tried my new bought Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS, with 300mm it is allowed to show the result here  It's only one pic, 5.6 and 300mm and cropped.
Hmmm..., I've better lenses!!

I've more pics pics from this scene, and some different positions of the two fishermen, centered and not, with and without a waterbird in front. But this is the only one with a nearly perfect right and left position (can't say it better). A crop is really a possibility. And the fog, I did not see the green from the boat when I took the pic, but my cam did it. I remember much more fog.

No birds, may be a fish and totally different than that what you see normally here. What do you think about?

Pentax K5, smc PENTAX-FA* 300mm F2.8 ED[IF] & smc Pentax F 1.7X AF Adapter, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/800, -0.3ev, unsharpened.
I'm not really satisfied with my lens-adapter combination. What do you think, is it so sharp as possible with this lens combi or could it be sharper? |

Thank you all for the friendly comments. Yes it's a nice set-up I have, on the other hand I'm slower and I have a lot of unsharp pics.
Here is another nest shot from Grey Herons. Same cam & lens combination. |

dadipentak thats a good idea! I like it to use my 300mm not only for animals. With this lens I can go close enough to get pictures like made with a macro but with a totally different background.

Thank you. But I have to say, these wetlands are grey today, the green is gone, the little gulls flew away. I shot them in June last year.
We have a warm and rainy winter this season, I don't like it!

KevinR, thank you for your pictures. Yes your Cape Gannet looks very similar to my Northern Gannet (I asked Wikipedia), the Cape Gannet has more black in the wings.
Your Spoonbill is great! Sometimes I think I need a longer lens and your Picture gives me a help to decide.
