Nice shots Gareth, the sand makes great patterns.

Whoa!! The sense of scale there is quite spectacular, looking up at the Golden Gate Bridge.

Images from the underworld of Birmingham:
I really enjoyed using the 10-20 this weekend, and am well pleased with the sharpness of these shots... the third shot was f9 1/4s hand held (I framed the shot in live view and used my camera strap to brace against movement)...

I think you're right, the reason my 14mm shots seem to be edge to edge sharper could well be that there is less of that extreme difference of focus distance than at 10mm. I should probably have tried focussing closer to the foreground and letting the depth of field take care of the background focus. But I also get a feeling that the focal plane is rather curved.
The shot was taken at the ruined priory in Dudley.

Here's one from my 10-20
I've noticed on this shot and many others at 10mm that the corners of the shot seem soft and 'stretched' - is this just a by-product of the optical design of the lens?
The best edge to edge sharpness seems to be at about 14mm.

Gheluvelt Park in Worcester, lit by Pentax AF280T Flash. The 10-20 is a very useful lens. Maybe its not quite as good as the 12-24, but much cheaper.
