depends on how they spec it and what the target market they are hunting for is.
To me, the smart thing to do would be to use a lot of the technology of the 645z and K3... the AF system, processing engine, etc. etc. The R&D for those parts are already paid for, and the fact they will be buying more of them for the 35mm format would probably help reduce production costs. Then there is the sensor... they could pull a Sony and offer two identical bodies with different resolutions, and I would be more than okay with that. I would actually prefer a 24mp sensor, as I do believe that is the sweet spot for resolution vs efficiency vs cost. A 36mp sensor, while a beautiful thing and something I love in my D800, is overkill for the majority of users.
I would love them to punch into the lightweight 35mm format class and bring out something that shows the D610/D750/6D how to build a $2400 full-frame DSLR. Deliver all the features of the K3, refine the video package, and give us the award winning ergonomics and control layout of Pentax and I think you will gain attention. Trying to do that at the 5Dmk3 and D810 price point is going to be harder.

I'm just hoping they don't tip the scales @ $3200 like I fear they are going to....
