I have a K10D with version 1.30 firmware. The MODSET file did not work, for the first two steps.
However, I searched and found instructions, on this site, for entering debug menu.
a. power on while holding play and ok buttons.
b. then quickly press Fn -> Fn -> INFO -> MENU buttons in that order.
Don't have to enter the debug menu. Scroll through the options and there are "LENS ROM SAVE" and "LENS ROM LOAD From FIle" . Highlight them and press OK to save the file and load the modified file. It worked for my 16-50mm.
