I see where you are a professor, so I therefore immediately have great respect for you. What do you teach? And you are interested in this ultra-wide lens, but I see where you shoot mostly flowers and children.
I will definitely work with in any way possible to amke this deal with you and you get a 77mm cir.polarizer that is worth maybe $50 in the deal, please don't forget about that. Good luck and I hope our paths cross.

Pentax 14mm f2.8 ED (IF) lens EXC++ Asking Price
$390 Shipping Destinations
Worldwide Item Description
I am selling this lens because I bought it thinking that I would have a use for it, but as it turns out I actually never used it. This was because I also bought a Tamrom 17-50mm zoom with Pentax mount for my K7. It is on EXC+ shape and comes with caps, box, paperwork, warranty cards, and even the Pentax leather or maybe it is just leatherette lens bag. There is also a tulip shaped lens shade and a Tiffen 77mm circular polarizer to cut down on potential glare, which is sometimes a problem with these ultra-wide angle lenses. I would prefer payment in the form of a cashier’s check, or a money order. I paid $499 for this lens used. I am selling it for U.S. $390, and I will sell this to anyone anywhere in the world.
I would consider a trade for a Pentax 50mm 2.8 FA macro, not the D, in EXC++ to Mint – condition, I seek this version since it is reputed to be sharper than the D and I have seen this older AF one and like it. But I would also like $125 added in.
The award winning Pentax 14mm F2.8 ED (IF) lens is elegant yet simple and this has been called the working man’s lens, and it is from what I have read about it. It is capable of very high contrast imagery, fast yet lightweight, and always provides authentic color rendition and sharp edge-to-edge focus.
• Wide-angle
• Landscapes, buildings, interior rooms
• Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass offers superior sharpness with minimal chromatic aberration.
• The PENTAX-original Quick-Shift Focus System allows instant switching from autofocus to manual focus operation.
• The focal length is equivalent to 21mm in the 35mm format.
• Developed specifically for PENTAX digital SLR cameras.
• Winner of the American Photo Editor’s Choice award (2005).
• Internal focus system to makes focusing smoother and faster.
• The lens is treated with the acclaimed SMC coating for maximum light transmission, sharp definition and high-contrast images.
The following is what Photozone had to say about this lens. The Pentax SMC-DA 14mm f/2.8 ED [IF] is one of very few ultra-wide angle fix-focal lenses that has been released during the recent years. This is a bit strange because zoom lenses in this range are immensely popular. Obviously Pentax decided to follow a relatively conservative strategy - a 14mm lens may have been ambitious during the film days but within the APS-C scope it is "merely" a lens with a field-of-view equivalent to about 21mm. This is still well within ultra-wide territory but the perspectives aren't quite as dramatic as the ones you can get from competing zooms which go down to 12mm (18mm equiv.) or even 10mm (16mm equiv.) at their widest setting although none offers a large maximum aperture similar to the Pentax.
Photozone further says “The DA 14mm may not be a Pentax Limited lens but the build quality feels great thanks to an outer metal shell and tight tolerances. The lens features an internal focusing mechanism and it does not change its size regardless of the focus setting. Consequently the front element does not rotate so using a polarizer remains easily possible. The broad, rubberized focus ring operates smooth with slightly higher friction than average.
Typical for most Pentax lenses the DA 14mm f/2.8 has no internal AF motor and relies on a slotted drive screw operated by the camera. AF operations generate a moderate degree of noise. The AF speed is very fast on the K10D. Thanks to a "Quick-Shift Focus System" manual focusing is instantly possible once the AF has achieved focus - this works very well and noiseless.” Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
