Two shots of a different weed in our yard. These are about the same size to even a little smaller than my earlier bluets. ~ 1-2mm wide. I think I'm close to out-resolving my K20D, this lens, or my ability to focus.
Both taken with my Vivitar 28/2.8 +52mm of tubes @ f/11 |

Welcome Eda,
I like the coloring and bokeh in your shot, but for future ones you may want to set you width between 800-900 pixels for easier viewing.
Here's a scale shot of yesterday's Secret World:
Anyone know what they could be? Looks like some kind of clover to me or it's mixed in with it.

Here's another view of a yard weed. The whole cluster is pencil eraser diameter or smaller, individiual petals 1/32" - 1/16" wide I guess. x-posted in bokeh. Vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 + 31mm tube at f/16 |

Thanks, I really liked the glow due to the backlighting in that third one. Guess we'll have to wait and see if Pete knows what the yellow one is.

Here's a couple I found earlier while doing yardwork. They're not the smallest, but still just popping up out of the grass. The yellow one looks to be part of some kind of clover or oxalis by looking at the leaves. Slightly larger than a pencil eraser. The red berry I've always called wild strawberry, but have no idea what it really is. Comes up from a different small yellow flower after pollination. Again, about eraser size. The last is a crop of maybe a jack in the pulpit. Total flower is about the size of a thumb nail across the petals.
All were shot with my K20 and an XR Rikenon 50/2.0 on 52mm of tubes (though the yellow one may have only had a 31mm tube). EDIT: judging from my input of 85mm, they all must have had both tubes attached though I should have input 100mm :o). |

Took these this evening on a walk. I had seen a sundog earlier, but didn't have my camera (that'll learn me ;) ). Anywho, not sure what these are, but they remind me of German Chamomile, though these are growing wild in a field near a pond. Two different views and loved the bokeh that resulted from the shallow DOF. The flowers are about 1/2" maybe 3/4" fully opened, but much smaller starting out. SMC-Pentax 1:1.8 55mm w/ 31mm tube @ f/11, 1/5", ISO 640 SMC-Pentax 1:1.8 55mm w/ 31mm tube @ f/11, 1.3", ISO100 |

1st is an Oriental Pepper (ornamental but edible and very hot, purple peppers). Notice the tiny ant inside. Flower is probably 1/2" to maybe 3/4" across. The second unopened flowers are from very small weed's (I guess). They are between 1/32" and 1/16" wide when closed like here. Used the onboard flash on the pepper shot, so it's a little harsh as I wasn't expecting to shoot this and didn't have anything handy to diffuse the light with. The weed was taken with the camera resting on the ground and 2" timer. SMC-Pentax 1:1.8 55mm w/ 31mm tube @f/11 or 13. |

Don't let them see the pix or they might want the lenses back. Ahh, to be so fortunate to have good glass just come my way. Got to know now, what were the other 5?

Not a flower, but really neat looking to me. I've never seen them with the dark brown pods (?). SMC-K 135/2.5 at f/8 with 13,21, and 31mm tubes.

Yeah, they look like they may be the same. The flower clusters (unopened) remind me of a flat, pinkish broccoli.

I know this is a perennial in one of our beds, but not sure what. The flower clusters are as much as 3-4 inches across but as you can see in the pic, the unopened buds are between 1/16" and 1/8", opened ones around 1/4" - 1/2". Nice pale pinkish-mauve in color which goes great against the green.
I've recently gotten some M k-mount tubes and an SMC-Pentax 55mm/1.8 which I used to shoot this before I got completely eaten by mosquitoes. I forget whether it was the 31mm or 21mm tube, but shot at f/19 IIRC. Outside lighting in early evening. I definitely have more appreciation for those who do such great macro work. It's amazing how little a change in camera distance can completely throw out the focus!

Love the colors in that second one. When putting the two lenses together, are you using a threading adapter??? I've seen reversing rings for sale, but thought that was just for one lens onto the body.
Here are a couple from the yard: the Crepe Myrtle is a cluster, so I tried to get one small bloom, but is definitely the largest of the bunch, and the Argeratum about 1/2" for each bloom, so not too tiny either, but great color. The following were shot with my Kiron 28-70mm Macro Crepe Myrtle 1/160", F7.1, ISO100 Argeratum 1/200", F8, ISO100, handheld Little White Flower 1/200", F6.3, ISO100, handheld

Claytonia is also known as Miner's Lettuce. Very hardy and a great "leafy green" during the winter months. Love the colors in your shot Tamia.
Here's a couple from our back yard, before the mosquitoes got me too badly. Taken with my SMC-A 28mm F2.8 with +4/+6 close-up filters respectively.
Coleus
Greek Oregano (flowers are 1/8" or smaller, you should see the seeds!). |
