Item Description
Here is a great opportunity to pick up this great lens at a great price.
The S-M-C Takumar 6x7 Leaf Shutter lens is very unique in the 6x7 line up.
It can be used three different ways,
It can be used normally with the cameras focal plane shutter,
the leaf shutter can be used in conjunction with the FPS and strobes to get flash sync times up to 1/500s,
or it can be used in a special mode where the leaf shutter is triggered manually while the cameras mirror and shutter are locked open, this gives you completely vibration free shots, as well as multiple exposure capability.
I acquired this lens as part of my original 67 kit and it was kinda in rough shape so I sent it to Eric Hendrickson for an overhaul.
Here is the lens conmdition,
Optically,
EX+ Glass is clean and clear, no haze, oil, fungus, dust, or scratches. There may be the odd cleaning mark but to my eyes it looks perfect.
I have used this lens a lot and it always produces excellent results.
Mechanically,
I would say it is Good+. Everything works perfectly. Aperture is snappy and clean, Leaf shutter works perfectly, flash sync works perfectly, focus is smooth through out.
The only issue is that the previous owner had dropped the lens and the aperture ring took the impact. Eric fixed it as best he could and it works great, it's just a bit stiff.
Cosmetically,
I would say Fair+. It has a little more than normal brassing/scratches in the black finish but looks pretty good anyways.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that it is a little snug mounting to the camera and there is a good bit of brass showing on the mount and flanges. It mounts and works fine though.
Comes with original front and rear caps.
