That is a beautiful bull. Why not also post it in the KP section? KP needs some love.

I have enjoyed the DFA 150-450 on many hikes of several miles. But with years I find the big lens more tiring for long periods. BUT it is always a joy to see the results so i still take it out often. It has only seen a tripod a few times and then only birding from a balcony. I am 75 and the shoulder knows it :) 10 years ago I would not have hesitated to take it back packing. Wish I had had it then!

AZGMDale, these are special captures of the different light and mountain textures we who live here love. This is a great spot you found. Keep mining it!

I never had the KP although people with them really love them. I have a K-3ii listed in the Marketplace which I am only selling to help pay for my FF lenses. I found the K-3ii a kind of mini k-1. I like GPS more than built in flash so I prefer it to the K-3 or the KP. The little AF201 works fine on the rare occasions I need a flash in the field.

That is a lovely photo, AZGMDALE. Makes the point that the 150-450 can be a knockout landscape lens.

What a face! Looks like a cartoon drawing but is clearly real from the rest of your photo. Really interesting capture!

Mike, This is outstanding. I did not spend much time with it first time through because I assumed it was one of those boring manipulations with two photos combined BUT you did it in one shot! That is real photography. Such a great use of the Pentax equipment. Thanks for posting.

I think most of the soft photos with the TC attached are likely operator error. I know that I use the TC less than I thought just because it requires so much more attention to shooting form than the lens alone. 450 is already a pretty long reach so adding .4 to the focal length just makes lens wobble, subject movement etc that much more of a problem. By the way, my shooting situation means that 90% of my photos are handheld. Everything would be cleaner with a tripod but I am not likely to drag one along anytime soon. I will continue to work on my hand holding technique.
