Marlon, Program line is the default you want the camera to be set at. So for shutter speed, the camera will go to the highest shutter speed it can for the scene. For aperture, it will try to stop the lens down as much as possible to give the greatest depth of field (DOF). For MTF, modern AF lenses have a chip in them that tells the camera what lens it is and the engineers have tested and designed the lens to be at it's optical best at a certain f stop. That data is programmed into the Pentax lens. So the MTF setting will have the camera choose the best aperture setting to get the sharpest image from the given lens and adjust shutter speeds to correspond with that setting. That is, as much as the latitude of the scene light levels allow.

It can depend on a couple of things. Do you want to shoot events, weddings or other paid work. Then yes keep at least the K10D.
Second would be rougher weather shooting. Say in winter you want to go out for the day. You can have your primary lens on the K20D and a secondary lens on the K10D. That way you avoid lens changes outside where water,dust etc get inside the body.
