It's a great shot SMC. I've never seen that 'gap' before. Looking at a few GBH shots I have, it's not present. Borno is the one who's got a library of GBH shots and would know for sure. Looks a bit odd to me though.
Wonderful fox shot d.bradley. Great light and capture.

Excellent Dave, I noticed you POW shot of the female Cardinal. Excellent shots. Making good use of those long lenses.

Here's an oldie but a goody.1952 era Piesker. 400mm f4.5 screw mount. Made in Germany. This thing is big and heavy. Has 3 elements and the aperture is in the front behind the first element. There are at least 20 aperture blades.
But it's fast and takes a decent shot. A touch soft on the contrast but that's easily corrected.
Here it is with the Sigma 70-200mm EX f2.8 (itself a large lens) on the K20D

That's right. I paid about $29 USD shipped for mine. Fits very well. Thread title changed.

want me to modify the title of the thread a bit? Maybe include any 300mm lens owner to join in? Just suggest the title. Like "300-500mm lens club"
